America's safest states for truck drivers
What comes to mind when you hear the phrase "driver safety?" You might respond with products or devices that make life on the road safer for transport professionals. But, you might overlook the states themselves. Where drivers operate plays an equally significant role as tech regarding their safety.
So what are we looking at? Data from The Barnes Firm has revealed America's safest states for truckers. The study assigned an overall ranking for each state based on factors including truck-related fatality rates, annual snowfall amounts and overall road conditions.
How could it help? The data may not cause any business to completely shift where and how they do business, but it's good-to-know information that could be beneficial when considering routing and the most ideal places for drivers to operate at maximum efficiency.

Peterbilt introduces new natural gas engine

$34 million lost to cargo theft in Q2
Food and beverage products and household goods were the primary targets of cargo criminals in the second quarter of 2024. CargoNet noted a total of 771 cargo thefts reported. While the numbers are down from the first three months of this year, it marks a dramatic rise in cargo theft numbers when compared to this time last year. (Truckers News)
